BLUE BUTTERFLY MEDALLION

If you like to do hand cutting, hope you will try making a 'Medallion'...this one is by 'Holly Berry Designs'.

INSTRUCTIONS: I inked up my stamp using a VersaMark ink pad; covered stamped image with Judikins Transluent Gold embossing powder; tapped off excess embossing powder and returned to jar; heat embossed; repeated 5 times on coordinating shiny paper (I used heavy weight text weight paper because card stock is difficult to cut close to embossing). Cut each layer close to the embossing being careful to NOT cut into embossing; layered my design pieces on the bottom uncut embossed butterfly image; layered all on complimentary color, and then on my card.

Enjoy!

Still having fun answering e-mails about the pictures I uploaded at OSA...all oriental.

Thought you might enjoy two cards I made using the 'Faux Quilting' technique...I entered them in the Polk County Fair and the Oregon State Fair this year in the 'Recycle' category...won a First Ribbon for them. Hope you enjoy!!!

STUNNED!

December 1st....where has this year gone! Hope you enjoy this early Christmas card I made.

I have been stunned by the response to creating an album on 'Oriental Stamp Art' (OSA - FYI: you have to be a member to see and post) after uploading 29 pictures of my cards....spent the afternoon replying to e-mails on 'how did you do that', etc. - made me feel like celeb! I enjoy sharing the how to's, so it was great FUN!

ALMOST RESTED

Actually was in bed by 10:30 last night; certainly beats the 2 a.m. bed time I had been used to preparing for the Polk County Craft Fair the two days after Thanksgiving - made 211 cards, plus took 300 of my photo note cards. Laughed almost constantly for the two days although only made $21 (take out $17.50 for my portion of the table fee) and my profit was $3.50 (another thing to laugh about!!!). Lots of lookers and admirers, just not many people making purchases. Everyone that made a purchase was a 'card maker'...now that's funny!!! At least I won't have to work so hard next year as I have a great stash!

Here's another of my cards for your enjoyment...

Polk County Craft Festival

Busy, busy, busy getting ready for the Polk County Craft Festival! First day today - Black Friday - not much business...hopefully tomorrow will be better! Regardless, had tons of fun and laughs with sidekick Terri and friends stopping by our table. For your enjoyment, here's a picture of one of my cards.

Trust everyone had a delightful Thanksgiving counting their blessings...I know I did!

Until next time,

Busy - What an Understatement!

World Card Making Day was loads of fun, but a VERY busy day. Attended a couple of make & takes in the morning at Stampin' Cat Studios, and led a card make and take, as well as a demo in the afternoon.
Have yet to figure out how someone can view this blog??? I know Holly Craft said she can, but I gave the address www.jancastle.blogspot.com to a friend, and she cannot access it...hopefully I will figure it out.
For your enjoyment, here's one of my Jan's Joy pictures.
Have a great week! Jan

Jan's Joy: Thank you to the Alzheimer's Care Givers

Jan's Joy: Thank you to the Alzheimer's Care Givers: "A special thank you to all those giving care to people with Alzheimer's. We took care of my husband's mother for 11 years before she had to go to a nursing home, and know the dedication involved. You are so special to give this non-stop care. Thank you for all you do to insure comfort and love. If you would like to thank 'Alzeimer's Care Givers' and do not have a specific person in mind, here's a worth site (of course, cards are always welcome): To the Staff at the Artman Home; 250 N. Bethlehem Pike; Ambler, PA 19002. "
